Overview
Laser-cut quadrotor frame for carrying a smartphone or compact camera; the preserved frame files and original Spanish manual leave complete software and electronics reproduction unresolved. [S001]
Flone's primary repository contains a laser-cut quadrotor frame designed to carry a smartphone or compact camera. It provides fabrication drawings rather than a complete aircraft software distribution. This review preserved the frame archive and the original 47-page Spanish Drone Starting Kit manual, then visually inspected selected material pages. It did not validate the full assembly or flight sequence. [S001] [S005] [S007] [S008]

Assembly and use
Select the drawing for the actual material
The frame README recommends 5 mm plywood, 4 mm MDF, 3 mm acrylic or 2 mm Acetal/Delrin. It tells builders to measure their stock and choose the nearest drawing or adapt the parametric design. The archive includes thickness-specific SVGs, 5 mm DXF/EPS/PDF variants, parametric SVGs and separate fabrication-service variants. Those files should not be treated as interchangeable just because they depict the same general frame. [S001] [S005]
Page 12 of the manual recommends flat, good-quality plywood near 5 mm thickness, with a 30 by 30 cm sheet and laser cutting. That supports a concrete fabrication route, but no drawing was cut, fit-checked or load-tested here. Material substitutions remain separate from evidence that a file exists. [S008]
The original component guide is a starting point
The inspected manual pages describe 28-12 1534 KV brushless motors, 10 A electronic speed controllers and a 3S battery. Its flight-board page discusses Multiwii a32u4 and Naze32 or Flip32. These are historical configuration descriptions; they do not establish current stock, an exact board revision or a qualified set of replacements. A complete delivered build budget remains unknown. [S008]
The official site describes Flone Remote control over Bluetooth, including telemetry, and mentions Multiwii and Naze32 with Cleanflight or Betaflight. It presents Wi-Fi as forthcoming. This review therefore does not treat Wi-Fi control as a demonstrated feature or assume that every mentioned firmware works with every board and phone. The exact application, firmware and electronics source payloads were not established by the preserved frame archive. [S005] [S006]
Keep the manual's license separate from the frame's
The frame README says Creative Commons by-sa without specifying a version. The official manual page separately links CC BY-SA 3.0 Unported and credits Lot Amorós for its idea/content and Jesus Parrilla for illustration/design. That manual-specific evidence does not resolve the repository's unspecified frame license. The catalog leaves the precise mechanical license unresolved rather than borrowing the manual's version. [S001] [S007] [S009]
The project site also describes its software as GPL without a version in the inspected page. That statement alone is insufficient to normalize the license of a complete application and flight stack. No installation, soldering, radio-link test or flight was performed. The preserved material supports further configuration research and fabrication planning, with those limits visible. [S005] [S006] [S008]
Cost
No current, complete configuration-specific build cost has been established for this profile.
Source files and licenses
Available project sources support research coverage; complete build and commercial qualification remain separate.
| Layer | Availability / license |
|---|---|
| mechanical design | available · License not fully assessed SVG, DXF, EPS and PDF frame files available. README says Creative Commons by-sa without a version; no precise frame license normalized. File families need material and revision matching. [S001] [S005] |
| electronics | not found · License not fully assessed Project describes external components or software, but complete matching source payload for this layer was not established in the preserved frame archive and selected manual review. This is not a claim of closed source. [S005] [S006] [S008] |

| documentation | available · CC-BY-SA-3.0 Grant applies to the original manual linked by its official page; not automatically to repository frame files. [S007] [S008] [S009] |
Selected frame and conventional phone-control route does not establish a learned model or training dataset requirement.
