Overview
A four-degree-of-freedom educational arm made from versioned laser-cut parts. [S001]
MeArm's reviewed release is v3.0, but the repository retains several generations of this four-degree-of-freedom arm. Its DXF files use 3 mm material, and assembly PDFs are organized by version. Keep the cutting files and instructions together. [S001] [S002]
Version 3 removes the elastic bands but still requires a PCB. Version 2 incorporates a PCB in its base and uses elastic bands or nitrile O-rings; version 1 does not require a PCB. Choosing v3 therefore does not eliminate electronics sourcing, and parts from those versions should not be assumed interchangeable. [S001]
The README estimates around 40 minutes for v3, 30 minutes for v2 and two hours for v1. Those are upstream estimates, not times measured here, and they do not establish cutting, sourcing or controller setup time. [S001]
Hardware is described as CC BY-SA 3.0, while images have separate noncommercial terms. A design-file license should not be reused as the permission basis for product photographs. The exact servo/PCB configuration, control software and complete delivered cost still need verification before a supported build can be specified. [S001]
