Overview
A roughly 30 cm printed humanoid using 19 DYNAMIXEL servos, a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and a custom-fabricated robot HAT. [S001]
Microban is a roughly 30 cm humanoid with 19 XL330-M288-T servos and a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. Its release includes printable CAD and build instructions, but the robot HAT is not described as an off-the-shelf purchase: the BOM directs builders to a separate Pollen Robotics design for fabrication. That board order is a material part of self-sourcing the robot; its exact design revision and manufacturing order still need confirmation before fabrication. [S001] [S005]

Assembly and use
Treat the published budget as two estimates
The pinned BOM estimates about $567 for robot components and about $623 when the U2D2 and power hub used for configuration are included. These are upstream approximate figures, not checked supplier quotes. The HAT's quoted amount depends on fabricator and order quantity; location and availability also affect the parts prices. Tools, a suitable computer, shipping, taxes and labor still need an explicit scope before treating either number as a complete first-working cost. [S005]
The assembly guide starts with individual motor configuration in Dynamixel Wizard and an ID map. The configuration equipment includes a 5 V supply for the U2D2 power hub. Assembly also involves soldering splitter cables and battery electronics; re-crimping shortened cables is a recommended alternative to soldered joins. Mechanical and electrical assembly then proceed through the legs, torso and final build. Buying all 19 servos is therefore not the end of the actuator work. The documented setup and configuration tools should be part of any future build trial. [S006]
The source release and SD-card image are separate
This profile preserves source release v1.0.0. Its deployment guide links a separate image.v2 SD-card image for a card of at least 16 GB, followed by network setup and SSH-based deployment from a computer. The supplied Makefile synchronizes code and installs locked dependencies with uv. That image and the separate policy-training project are not part of the captured primary archive. [S002] [S007] [S008]
Daily operation also has a specific shutdown requirement: stopping the control loop is different from shutting down the Pi before removing power. The usage guide distinguishes both actions and describes a locally runnable MuJoCo route. We have not reproduced the software setup, shutdown behavior or walking controller. [S008]
CAD files use CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 and source code uses GPL v3. Documentation terms conflict: the README includes docs under the noncommercial license, while the root license assigns files outside cad/ to GPL v3. The separately sourced HAT needs its own license review. The README asks commercial hardware and kit suppliers to obtain a separate license. Keep the software and hardware terms distinct, and do not infer a commercially supportable robot from the source download alone. [S001] [S003] [S009]
