Overview

An arm research platform whose hardware release separates the arm, evaluation cell and KER assemblies. [S005] [S006]

OpenArm's hardware release 2.0.0 is more than the files in a normal Git source download. Its README points to Google Drive as the source of truth and publishes separate release archives as mirrors. The release asset openarm-hardware-2.0.0.tar.gz has been preserved locally and checked against its published SHA-256: 247ce0141a9be6ebbb5a6c206cf0557574929ea0b80e20dddbff7c0c0919db75. This identifies the separately downloaded hardware asset, not the Git source archive; obtain it from the linked hardware release. [S005] [S006]

Assembly and use

The archive contains three different assemblies

The bundle separates OpenArm 2.0, OpenArm Cell and OpenArm KER. Each has its own assembly and BOM workbook. It also contains an optional head-camera assembly, cell wiring, and KER PCB and cable artifacts. Select the intended assembly and its options before extracting quantities or pricing parts; these are not three names for one universal kit. [S005] [S006]

Hardware and control versions need reconciliation

The primary project overview is release 1.1, while the acquired hardware is 2.0.0 and the inspected ROS integration is 0.9.2. Their release numbers do not prove compatibility with each other. A build specification still needs a matching robot description, control packages, electronics and calibration route. [S002] [S006] [S007]

The hardware source uses CERN-OHL-S-2.0. The project/ROS software sources use Apache-2.0; that software license does not replace the hardware terms. Commercial qualification also requires identifying which purchased motor/controller components and external assets belong to the selected build. [S003] [S005] [S007]

No current delivered cost for a frozen configuration is established here. We have not assembled an OpenArm or executed its control stack.

Cost

No current, complete configuration-specific build cost has been established for this profile.
